Accountant

Your mission

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team in Eschborn, Germany. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial reporting for the German entity and other European group companies. You will be responsible for processing financial transactions, preparing financial summaries and reports, and ensuring adherence to Group accounting policies.

Please note: Due to the nature of this role, fluency in German is required.

Your Responsibilities

Process all financial transactions for the German entity and other European group companies, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant accounting.
Handle vendor invoices, customer payments, expense reimbursements, and other financial activities following established procedures.
Maintain meticulous records, including journals, ledgers, and subsidiary accounts.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the German entity.
Generate financial reports and valuations for management review, external reporting, and internal analysis.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential areas for improvement.
Develop and deliver ad hoc financial reports upon request from the Finance Manager or other stakeholders.
Review and analyze customer contracts to guarantee proper accounting treatment of revenue recognition.
Implement and maintain effective revenue recognition policies and other financial procedures.
Communicate effectively on revenue recognition matters with the Finance Manager and relevant stakeholders.
Possess a deep understanding of and consistently apply Group accounting policies and procedures across all financial transactions.
Stay up-to-date with ongoing changes in Group accounting policies and make necessary adjustments to financial records and reports.
Collaborate effectively with the Finance team to ensure financial reporting adheres to Group standards.
Understanding of tax laws in Germany

Your profile

Graduation in relevant field eg. Bilanzbuchhalter
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a finance role
Strong grasp of financial principles and a working knowledge of accounting standards (ideally IFRS) and financial reporting practices.
Proficiency in financial software applications (e.g., MS Dynamics)
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy are essential
